Friendship

What exactly is friendship?

Looking at the title of this entry and the starting question, you may think that "Hell, anybody in this world would know what's that."

But Hell no. I just read a complain letter written by some anonymous person to "Ask Aunty" in the monthly Reader's Digest, asking for solutions to his brittle friendship.

Obviously, he is well concerned about this friendship of his, while the other party does not.

I believe that anyone of you should have encountered some form of difficulties in life when it comes to friendship.

Why do we always get so confused and completely baffled by our friendships?

I heard of endless grumblings about others, we do. I, myself had been and am on sunken "ships". Why these things happen? How? Ever ask yourself those questions?

This is how God created man and this is how we were born to this earth as sons of God. We are unique in our own ways, having distinctive personalities that differ vastly from others.

We therefore view friendships in different perspectives. That is when complications occur.

Some people value friendships just a little too much. They are too afraid of losing them and are willing to do anything to get them back if they lose them.

Some idiots and heartless people treat friends like temporary "tools." They use them to see them through obstacles in life or to satisfy their needs, neglecting them when they are useless.

Some people are more than dumb to not know what are true friendships. They value the wrong ones, neglecting the ones who cared for them the most.

Couldn't be blamed. Maybe people are born that way, never knowing what they have now are the "golds" that many are yearning and searching for.

Time never waits for us. Time can never be recycled. Do what you can now to value those who treat you right and well. It's never too late.

-Friendships are hard to come by, why destroy them?-
-In a hope to be friends again.

Boredom Kills

Is your holidays getting dull? Getting bored with all the mundane activities and daily routines of your life? Well, it's time to start doing something different.

Here's a suggestion from me that might be able to lighten up your life a little - Sudoku. Some of you, the sudoku haters would think that this is an awfully bad idea.

There are two things about sudoku that makes people dislike doing it.
  1. You don't know how to solve the puzzle.
  2. You think it's too easy and boring.

Either ways, the reasons are still not good enough for you to avoid doing it.

For newbies, you can always check out Edwin's blog for the instructions and the solutions for sudoku. Or you can google "Sudoku" to find out yourself. It's a simple game.

If you still think that the game is incomprehensible or the information from the web is not enough to clear your doubts, feel free to consult me :)

As for those professionals/masterminds who think sudoku is too easy for them, try doing hypersudoku, one of the variants of sudoku. Hypersudoku is not only challenging, it is very logical and of course, solveable. An example :-

Not to worry. It's not diabolically hard that one puzzle itself can digest your entire brain. Try thinking of it as an entertainment and an exercise to kill time and to reactivate your rusty mind during this holiday. Here's the solution :-

But if you are too smart to the extent that you still think hypersudoku is nothing challenging, try nonomino sudoku and samurai sudoku.

Those two variants of sudoku will definitely be able to blow your brains into bits. Here are some examples :-

Nonomino Sudoku

Samurai Sudoku

Good Luck with that.

Dazzled

You should watch the beauty of Ving Tsun being performed by Donnie Yen, acting as Master IP Man in the movie - ip man.

The Chinese Kung Fu - Ving Tsun that is best used in close combat focuses not only on great speed, but also on softness and power.

I highly recommend this movie to you guys if there're more boring days ahead of you. I can guarantee that the movie will be worth watching, even more than once. Unless you have no interest at all in Kung Fu movies.

The fighting scenes from ip man have been replaying in my mind ever since the movie ended. I even compared Master Ip Man's kung fu with Frank Martin's fighting style in Transporter 3. Obviously, Chinese kung fu is better.

Seriously, ip man probably is the best kung fu film ever produced.

And yup, I watched Transporter 3 today as well. I admit that I'm a movie mania, but am far from being extreme.

The movie is just okay to me and it's not as good as the first one. Don't bother watching it. Watch ip man instead :)

Well, what a day indeed.

Erm.. Another Outing?

Yes indeed. Another "ex-classmate" outing and I planned it again. (No one wants to plan it! And most guy's planning suck!)

This time more people turned up, unlike the previous pathetic one. (So sorry if you are not invited.) Hate it when outings ended badly.

So we watched Wild Child. As expected, typical biatch movie. (Maybe it's a little different from others but they are the same to me) The movie is quite nice actually. I somehow find girls fight interesting xD

After the movie, we had a little tough time finding place to sit down, have something to eat and chat. Blablabla. Went to Secret Recipe because someone suggested it and there's nothing to eat there.

Being considerate, Jo and LF ordered something to eat. Blablabla. WG and bf went back early, leaving me, WH and the rest behind.

We gossiped for quite awhile and then went back. Such a failure. No mood to write it.

I comment, You guess

Well, I just finish reading a particular person's bloggie and I can't wait to comment about it although it's 12.30 am already.

Can't believe I'm sacrificing my sleeping time just because of that person. And I'm not feeling well today. Supposed to be sleeping early! Let's call that person "X" to make things simple for me.

As usual, I read blogs whenever I've got nothing better to do. Clicking the links on my friends' blogs, I clicked on X's blog.

Read X's posts and saw X's pictures, I drew a conclusion about X. The way X writes, it sounded like X's bitching about people. X's writing style is so full of bitchiness, (I know I'm bitching about X right now) but I seriously cannot tahan.

X's a girl, obviously. Likes camwhoring like "MOST" girls do. Her face is just so ordinary without all the makeups but no, she thinks she's beautiful.

I can see how she tried hard to look gorgeous, like those Hollywood celebs posing for the paparazzis on the red carpet. Nope, she's never near there, not even with those color contacts, makeups and dyed hair.

I know I'm not that handsome to comment about her outlooks. But hey, at least I don't talk bad about others in my blog, or do anything relating to their appearances (Now I do, because of you). Don't you know beauty can be found within?

Lucky her, she's got a handsome boyfriend. How unfortunate for him to have her as a girlfriend.

So, take a guess. Guess who's X and leave your answer in the cbox or wherever you like. Or tell me personally if you want it to be kept as a secret :)

No extra clues given. I've given more than enough.

Appreciation

The black antique grandfather clock hanging in the living room strikes 12. There was an almost deafening silence in the house that the chiming of its bell could be heard audibly.

For the past 20 minutes, I sat in front of the computer, hearing nothing but gunshots and the cocking of revolvers. Peering down at my Swatch, the needles were indeed positioned vertically, pointing at the number 12.

Reluctant to go to bed, I walked on, soon to realize that bloodshed awaits me at the other side of the wall.

"The night is still young," I always told myself. Nevertheless, if this continues, my health will be in great danger.

Expecting another dull and unexciting day to come, I preferred lying down on my warm single bed every morning, letting 1/5 of the day to slip away.

Yesterday, I went to SS2 with Khy Li, bringing along my sister with me. Sat down at Hailam Kopitiam, ordered drinks and chatted. It's yumcha, as we called it. I shined brightly that day, you get what I mean. 2 hours flew away just like that.

This morning, my mom came into the house, holding a pile of letters while she called out for me.

As expected, I got a letter from my friend, Michelle. It was only 2 days ago when she asked for my house address.

I still have the first package received from you in 2006 with me. Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.

Two years later, today. I receive something from you again, but I have not sent you even a single letter. Sorry. SMS can? xD

A Christmas tree from Michelle, counting down the days for Christmas :) Thanks again

FAMILY

Staring into the blank space in the middle of the night,
Listening to the music as the sound waves propagated into my ear canal.
Wonderful memories flushed into my mind uncontrollably,
Filling my lungs with satisfaction and nostalgia instantaneously.

Reminiscing more of my past events excavated some bad remembrances.
Looking thoughtfully at the wrongdoings i had brought about,
I realized how irrational I was when it comes to making decisions,
Messing things up when they were supposed to have happy endings.

Gazing at the swaying pendulum of the grandfather clock,
I noticed time is running out as the ticking clock beats my heart rapidly.
Adjusting the complications have become gradually impossible,
But I believe that this broken bridge could still be mended.

With much perseverance I need, as well as the guidance and aid from you,
Letting you down I shall not as I strive hard to better myself unceasingly.
I shall never stop loving and appreciating you,
Until the day when the earth stood still before all sons of God.

Malacca - Historical City

Malacca has always been known for its chronicles. Tourists from countries around the globe came all the way to Malacca regardless of the scorching weather. A Famosa, Bukit Cina, Cheng Hoon Teng temple, and Hang Li Poh well, just to name a few are the must-visit historical sites in Malacca. No doubt Malacca is one of the main attractions of Malaysia.

Speaking of Malacca, all I can think of is hot, boring, and boring, nothing much. Can't blame me. Malacca is my father's hometown. I have been to almost all the historical places for God knows how many times already.

So, what other things are left for me to do there? Fishing? My grandmother's house is nowhere near jungles and rivers. You can imagine the heat gushing into the spacious house when someone opens the wooden door. Air conditional? You sponsor, then I get cool air. But, it's a bad idea also. She can't stand the cold much. Don't torture her.

MALACCA IS SO HOT AND BORING!

Yesterday, my family took a day trip back to Malacca to visit my grandmother. I woke up reluctantly, thinking that this trip is going to be like the previous trips - boring. Surprisingly, it's different, much different. Listen.

It started off the same with me SLEEPING throughout the whole 2 hour journey, only to find myself half awake upon reaching. Went in the house, greeted my grandmother, sat on the rattan chair and continued my sleep. The hard rattan chair could not even hinder me from having another 2 more hours of sleep until lunch time. My fatigueness could be explained by the lack of sleep during the one week of finals.

Lunch time was where the fun began. We went to the same old vegetarian restaurant and were expecting the same old dish we had the last time we came. Thank God. Someone was holding a wedding function there, so, obviously there wasn't any place for us to dine there. I was smiling only :)

Next, we headed off to another vegetarian restaurant just opposite the road. FYI: My grandmother is a vegetarian, so we have to conform to her eating habits. Anyway, the restaurant was crowded and according to the waiter, we had to wait for a long time if we were to order. No waiting! Everyone was starving! So off we go.

Went to Mahkota Parade. You might be wondering how on earth will there be a vegetarian restaurant in a shopping complex. We wondered too, but my grandmother insisted that there is one there. As we walked around, desperately finding the restaurant, we found ourselves in Le Garden Cafe minutes later.

Didn't know a cafe will offer vegetarian food. So it ended upwith my grandmother eating her vegetarian food and us eating MEAT! The most delectable meal I ever had in Malacca :) *exaggerating*

Guess what's for dessert? McDonald's Chocolate Sundae! A cup per person including my grandma. Cool! Never seen her eating ice-cream before. And she ate it fast.

Had a great time in Malacca. I love one day trips! Went back shortly after we had our ice-creams.

Who Says MORAL is NOT IMPORTANT?

AS I flipped through the moral notes, I found out that most of the information in it is trivial. But yet, why are the government forcing us, the younger generations of Malaysia to take up MORAL as a subject? Isn't moral supposed to be practical as well? Why all the notes?

The government is naive enough to think that by giving us some theoretical moral guidance in schools and colleges, we will turn into some morally strong and ethical animals. They try to instill those moral values in us with the aid of professional, well-trained and thought to be as "moral" teachers and lecturers, giving us three hours of lullabies per week that put us to sleep when we are struggling to concentrate.

What's best is that the government already knew that we, the younger generations, are ever practicing truancies, skipping classes that are dull and stupid. Smart! They also knew that MORAL is a subject that falls into that category. So, they tried to deter truancies. How? Students are not allowed to skip at most 5 classes, which is about 7 and a half hours of lullabies or they are barred, which also means that they have to retake MORAL, which ultimately means more REVENUE for them. What a brilliant Idea! Killing two birds with one stone.

But do the govenment know that we actually cared less to concentrate in those pointless moral classes? They are just wasting their time and our time, wasting resources, wasting everything, including their brain juice. Of course, they don't mind at all. As I mentioned, they knew students are getting immoral these days and they are involving themselves in many social problems, any problems you can think of. So, not many students will be able to pass this "subject."

Their main concern might be only $$ <----- this.

Therefore, who says moral is not important? Moral is important to keep the economy going. Moral is one of the "main" profits that the government sector can generate from from the academic sector. Moral is important to us students as well because it's the only class where we can rest our minds, not having to think and write much.

However, let us smile and try our best to pass this freaking subject before the government and the college smile back at us for the $$ we insert into their big pockets.

Good luck and all the best to all MORAL students. Hope you can at least pass the subject. A 50% would be just enough to make that happen :)

"Because of you, I changed..."

1. Who are you?
Lee Yi Hui a.k.a Sean

2. Who is more important to you?
Family.

3. How often do you think of commiting suicide?
Never thought of that before. Life has its ups and downs. We have to face it, not to avoid it.

4. Do you think you have enough confidence?
I lose my confidence under certain situations and circumstances.

5. How many babies you want?
Hey, it's still too early for me to think of having babies now. I am already surrounded by problems. So, no thanks.

6. Do you believe in seeing rainbow after a rain?
Of course I do. It's a natural phenomenon, you have to believe it even if you don't. Appreciate the beauty of nature, you'll find something wonderful in it.

7. What is your goal for this year?
It's too late for a question like that as we are reaching the end of the year already. My goal now is to do well in my coming finals.

8. Do you believe in eternity love?
Of course I do. Love is complicated but yet amazing and wonderful :)

9. What's a perfect boyfriend to you?
Since I'm a guy, let me give you my opinions on how to be a perfect boyfriend. A perfect boyfriend must be caring to his girlfriend, always put her as the top most priority, not thinking of other girls when he is in a relationship, be serious in a relationship and most importantly, he must be tolerant.

10. What feeling do you love most?
The feeling of accomplishment.

11. What are the requirements you wish from the other half?
Nothing much, as long as she accepts my love.

12. Is there anything you want to tell the people you hate?
I seldom hate people. It's hard for me to hate a person. Even if I do hate a person, it's for a short period of time only. The feeling of discontent and hatred are not my type of feelings.

13. Do you cherish every single relationship of yours?
Definitely YES!

Ship of Dreams

Eager to know how we were caught in the midst of nowhere,

Looking like a desert on a day with intolerant scorching heat.

As uncertain and dubious as we were, and

In an attempt to find ourselves a shelter, we walked and walked,

Not knowing that we were pacing down an esplanade of memories.

Extemporaneously, words of concern were expressed with much sincerity,

Though, they were constantly beaten down with adamant refusal.

As helpless as I am, the only way is to protect and shelter you silently from afar.

Nine million pieces of broken glass piercing through my pounding heart was what

I felt, while watching you persevered in your efforts through obstacles of life.

Noble and amenable to kindness, your problems often reach unfathomable depth, and seeing you suffer from unbearable pains,

I decided to sacrifice every second of my life for you, to provide the wamth and comfort you needed.

Never stop waiting I shall, for your permission to bring me into your solitary life, and

Giving you the long lasting and never fading love you always yearn for. (Dreams 11)

Tuesday Outing!

Thinking back of what I have done really frightens me at times.

Time flies, and it seriously does. It's like having Deja Vu in college everyday. Every single thing that happened the week before still stays fresh in my mind. It sounds real creepy but that's what I'm experiencing all this while.
Research proposal and outline handed in. So much time was wasted. Doing research, finding information on the net, merging and editing essays, waiting for procrastinated works, cracking brains while he slacks, staying up late at night, sacrificing my precious time for others.

Only to know that every single thing done was worth while when we successfully came up with a fairly satisfying draft. A sense of relief and accomplishment came flooding all over the students of En102 on Monday when the drafts were handed in. =)

What's next? Of course it's an outing with a gang of friends to get ourselves far far away from the workload and stress. So, the gang decided to hang out at the Curve on the following day - Tuesday!
Sorry people for being a killjoy that day. No one inform me that we were going to have our lunch there! =( Anyway, we did have fun right? Yes!

It was a simple outing but yet memorable. =) We went there to have lunch at Sakae Sushi. Yes, the restaurant I commented about in one of the previous post. =P And Nikko was the photographer of the day! Thanks for all the pics!
The Gang: Qila, me, Mid-Hat, KL, Quo Qian, CY, Elaine and Jehan! Nikko the photographer and Asil were not in the pic =(
Struggling with the menu~ What to order?!

Me recommending yummy foods to my Kenya friend - Mid-Hat.
That was his first time eating sushi and he ate it with us. Aww..
While waiting, we posed for pictures!

Asil~

Nikko and Qila. And you said I'm a bad photographer -.-
Camera Shy~
Foods are Here!

Qila's Octopus

Mid-Hat's sashimi, Yum Yum~

Wasabi Challenge !

This is what you get when college students eat out at Japanese restaurant xD

Mmmm~ Dont the wasabi just tastes good?

Even Mid-Hat thinks that it's good.

Dessert time~
Don't we just loooveee Baskin Robbins ice-cream?

Bye~!

I was wondering..

I have been having myriad dreams, although they are not as vivid as before.
But there's one thing for sure..
Those little dreams I had were wonderful.
Life has been real hectic lately. I have assignments to hand in, lab reports to catch up with and a 3000 words research to do! Everything is killing me softly. But I just don't feel like doing anything. Why? I need someone to push me, to motivate me and to guide me through. Anyone.

And there's one thing about me. I'm happy with my life now. Smiling everyday, but deep down inside, I'm actually worrying about my studies. I'm slacking off!

My life has also changed slightly since the start of the semester. Actually, it's 2 weeks after the start of the semester. Less crap, less vulgarity, coming online everyday and.. can't think of more right now.

One more thing! I finally went to play frisbee with my friends after promising them that I'll join them since January, which was my first semester in HELP college. FYI I'm already in the third semester right now. I'm also starting to care for my body and I'm getting back my stamina after going for two Pick-ups on Saturday :)

Yup. That's basically it. My life.. (boring)

Yi Hui aka Sean :)

D for Daring to Dream

Would any of you ever appreciate your dreams although some of you may find it hard to recall what you dreamt of after you had awaken from the warm and comfy bed of yours?

My Dreams, as beautiful and wonderful as ever.

Dreams, my second home, my fantasy land that projects all my inner desires.

Dreams, make my day.

Dreams, provide me with indefinite confidence although they are sometimes false hopes.

Dreams, draw me closer to my loved ones.

Dreams, showed me an avenue that allows me to escape from reality.

Dreams, had inevitably fused with my life as one ever since I was born.

And ALL Dreams, will soon come to life on the day you say ‘I Do.’

Just last night, you came straight into mine with a smile on your face. You told everyone that something that we held each other tightly. That moment again will be one of those wonderful moments that would find themselves carved on the walls of my mind.

Is that what I wanted? We’ll figure that out soon.

Thanks for everything :)

Sean

Sometimes, temptions are REALLY HARD to resist

It was during Freshman English 2 class today when my friend, who was just sitting right beside me started feeling the urge to eat something in the middle of the class. He asked one of my friends for food and was hoping to hear a positive reply. Unfortunately, none of them had any tidbits with them.

Out of a sudden, he remembered keeping some chewing gums in his bag and the search began. He found the gums within seconds and was thrilled. After plucking a gum out of its package, he offered me one but I turned down his offer. He then turned to the guy next to him and offered him instead. Without further hesitations, the guy took a gum.

But then, something happened..

The guy put the gum into his mouth, took a bite and immediately spat the whole gum out of his mouth. You wonder why..

Guess what?

That guy who took the gum is a muslim and he was supposed to be fasting at that time! Both my friend and him have literally forgotten about that. Anyway, that guy laughed at himself for being so forgetful. Joker..

A trip to Sunway

Saturday, 2nd of August - Since we have been to One Utama, we are planning a visit to 'Egypt' today!

This morning, unlike most, we woke up late - 10 o'clock. Taking our own sweet time, we dressed ourselves up and filled our stomach with breads and cereals before departing from home. Shortly before 12 p.m., the huge lion and pyramid were in sight. We alighted from the one year old Myvi, snapped a picture and entered the shopping complex.

It's been a long time since I shopped or did anything here. Anyway, Yuka - the Japanese girl standing between me and my sister stopped by at Anna Sui, getting her nails polished with the free tester and her face made up in front of the promoter. How daring. Even I who was not the one using those free testers, standing beside her made me feel embarrassed. As you can see from the mirror, she was happily utilising those free testers on the counter. I admire her guts :)

Yuka is also one real fast shopper. She would go into a shop which has a large variety of clothes displaying and in the next minute or so she's out. If it was a rather small shop she went into, she would glance through the things on the shelves within seconds. My mother is the opposite of her. While waiting for my mother, we wandered off taking pictures randomly to kill time.

A little while later, I was already starving and my feet slightly aching - due to the lack of exercise. We then decided to have a hot bowl of pork noodles for lunch at the Esquire Kitchen. What a brilliant idea. I could see that Yuka was enjoying every single moment eating that bowl of noodles. "Oishi desu ka?" I asked, already knowing what the reply would be. "Oishi," was her instant rejoinder as she smiled back satisfyingly at me. Of course, we were contented. Yummy~~

After having all the noodles sucked and slurped into our drumming belly, we continued with our shopping. We even went outside to take some pictures of sunway lagoon. Then came snacking time when we entered a shop selling all types of candies with samples to try. Yuka tasted the sour plum and showed us this expression where we snapped it immediately. Funny~

Before we went home at 5 p.m., we sat down and ordered some coffee to quench our thirst at Toastbox! We discovered another thing then. She loves coffee very much and the toasted bread with kaya and butter was like food sent from heaven to her. She could almost finish the whole plate herself.

At night, we bought some "Yao Zha Guai" for supper. And there goes our lovely Saturday.

Walking straight

Wednesday, July 30th - 3rd day of hosting.

This is another day where people have to get up early from bed to get their lazy asses to work and to school. But, as for me and my sister, it's a total different story. Do you know that there are a total of 1300 free tickets given out each day if I'm not mistaken for a visit to the KLCC sky bridge? Yes, and we are going to get 3 of the 1300 tickets today!

While fetching my younger sister to school, my mother dropped the three of us - me, my elder sister and the Japanese girl - at the Taman Bahagia LRT station. As expected, the LRT was so packed and cramped with people that I could hardly breathe and kept on perspiring. That's one of the implications of the hike in petrol prices. That also made me wonder of how those people in China survive going to work everyday in those super crowded trains of theirs.

By the time we reached KLCC, the ticketing counter was already crowded with people queuing up in an 'S' shape. Reluctantly, we went to queue up as well. There were many foreigners sitting and waiting patiently to get their tickets. The wait wasn't very long as we stood for about a half an hour or so.

Up at the sky bridge which is 170m above street level, the whole Kuala Lumpur city is in full view and the scenery is fantastic. And not to forget, I have a slight acrophobia thanks to my 'wonderful' imagination, so it's a little scary too.

A view of KLCC park from the sky bridge

Pictures taken at KLCC park

At noon, the scorching sun above was burning into my skin. We quicken our pace, walking towards the KL convention centre as fast as possible, as the merciless sun gets hotter and hotter. After taking some rests, we headed towards Pavilion to have our lunch and of course, for shopping! We bought a plate of Char Kuey Tiow, Asam Laksa and Nasi Lemak from the food court there. She likes Asam Laksa best and thinks that Nasi Lemak is too spicy. Anyways, we did a little shopping after lunch and she bought herself a pink Guess handbag which costs RM440! Rich people -.-

Believe it or not, we later walked from Pavilion all the way to China town under the burning sun because of the poor transportation in KL! Torturing.. At China town, she bought herself some souvenirs and a watch which we bargained the price for her. She did not seem to be interested in those pirated stuff sold there though. Rich people -.-

After taking some pictures, we advanced to Central Market to see whether she has anything to buy from there. We then called it a day and went home by LRT. Tiring~~
