Of Randomness

So the US has been treating me well, but I have some catching up to do when it comes to open-mindedness.

I remember barging into the female’s lavatory when I was still little, wanting to show people that I indeed am slightly different from the norm as I attempted things in a way that the society finds it disapproving but in someway, humorous because I was just a little kid, because as what we’ve learnt through experience in our lives is that little kids can practically get away with anything that’s wrong or crime-based to a grown up/mature individual.

Before I start digressing and going into the details of my obnoxious childhood behavior, allow me to continue. So in the US, it’s a total different thing from what I did when I was of young age, girls enter the men’s lavatory instead.

I had several encounters in the men’s lavatory that involves females. I’ve seen head of girls popping out of the cubicles through the reflection of the mirror when I was brushing my teeth. I’ve seen pink high heels instead flip-flops or shoes through that 6 inches gap beneath the cubicles. I’ve been warned by a bunch of girls not to come out from the shower cubicle without a towel wrapped around my waist because it’s going to take them about 1 minute to pee. And later on, I’ve heard them calling out to somebody outside the lavatory to help them with the door because apparently, they were being locked in. Those were fun encounters.

But if those weren’t entertaining enough, I have something else to share with you guys. It was a fine Thursday night, a night where most Americans would go to the bar or clubs to get themselves drunk and all wasted because there usually won’t be any classes on Friday, when I was doing my stuff and my roommates were doing theirs although it’s way past midnight. Us Malaysians just love staying up, aren’t we?

So I was doing my stuff when suddenly the door of my dorm room slammed shut, indicating that someone just came in or went out. “Bam!” is what you’ll hear when the door shuts itself. The nosy me couldn’t help but to put a halt to what I was doing every single time that noise came beating on my eardrums, pop my head to the other side of the wall and take a peek at the door to see who was coming in or going out. It’s like every moment when that happened, I am bringing myself closer to possessing a great potential of working at front desks, registering people who’re entering or leaving any particular building.

So as usual, I took a peek and saw a big-sized black American walking into our room without giving us any prior notice that he has an intention of entering our room by knocking at our door or whatsoever. It was weird that some stranger just barged into your room for no apparent reasons, but it’s even weirder when he started taking off his pants. I have no enthusiasm in watching a guy being bottom-less, so I turned away the moment I saw his erm.. pubic hair. He was doing it slow-mo so I get the chance to turn away before I stumbled upon little Johnson.

I sat still at my chair wondering what’s happening at the other side of the wall when I heard a sound so positively correlated to a guy peeing on a carpeted floor that without looking I was hell sure what’s actually going on. It was a long pee he took. The reason for me being a bystander is that I wasn’t sure if he’s drunk or he’s sleep-walking. In either condition, it’s a bad idea to wake him up and kindly ask him to buzz off.

First, if you failed to wake a sleep-walker, he might end up peeing on you than on the carpet, in which the latter is not that bad, just that it needs a little cleaning afterwards. Having pee on you? No thank you. Second, if he’s drunk and you’re trying your best to ask him not to pee in your room, you might end up Rihanna-fied. Or what’s worse, he might gun you down because it’s the US??! That’s the last thing that could happen to you in Unis, but who knows What fate awaits you? Third, what if he’s completely conscious of his doings and that was exactly his intention? You might as well say byebye to tomorrow’s sunlight if you acted all hero when you Asian is so tiny. So I did what I do best, nothing. And waited for the rainbows to come out.

So there he left, a puddle of pee for us. How thoughtful…

The following day, today, a Friday, I walked past my RA’s room and saw this written on the whiteboard outside her room, “No peeing on this door – 403.” I guess it wasn’t only my room that fell prey to this peeing monster that roamed the floor of GK at night.

On another note, ever wonder what it takes a person to snatch the final portion of his favorite food from someone who’s waiting in the line? So I went to Hubbell Dining Hall rather late today, few minutes before it closes to be exact.

Today’s food did not leave me much choice and it did not taste good at all, so I decided to go for the pizzas. Because Hubbell was just about to close, they weren’t making any more pizzas, and just nice, I was the forth in line when there were exactly 4 pizzas left. I was behind 3 rather small sized girls and I was pretty sure they were going to have a piece each and leave the final piece for me. So grabbed a plate and waited I did.

When my turn came, this guy came walking swiftly towards my direction, grabbed hold of the final piece of pizza with his hand and walked right past me, ignoring my presence totally. How much ruder can he be? I wonder…

The girl standing in front turned towards me, as if awaiting a dramatic reaction or some sort, but once again, I shrugged it off and showed her the what-can-i-do face. You’ll get used to meeting all sorts of people in this vastly diversified society. Well, good luck to us!

The Pencil

Before I hit the hay sack the night before, I realized something seemed to be amiss because the night was still at its dawn. I wondered for quite some time before concluding that today is going to be a big day for me. A really gigantic humongous one that is definitely going to freak the hell out of me and that I’m bound to be tormented until I beg for mercy/pee in my pants. *works the same*

Thinking of that, I couldn’t stop shivering with fear. With my teeth chattering and my legs weak and numb, I prostrated myself on that heated bed of mine, not being able to move another inch till morning. I swear I was literally frozen inside out despite the hot surroundings and the layers of comforters being laid on me. At the same time, I had an insomnia attack, which I thankfully recovered from it moments later.

This morning, I was awaken by a huge jolt. When I say HUGE, I really do mean it. It’s not a usual slight jolt on your shoulders when your mom wakes you up in the morning or a nudge you get when your irritated maid screams you out of bed. It’s a rather unimaginable and an illogical one. Yes, my teeny cubicle was struck by a magnitude 5 earthquake that threw me out of bed. I landed on the ground with a stud. Ouch!

A few minutes of jam-driving brought me to HELP at around 8.30 in the morning and there, I could finally breathe. The freshness of the morning air had gotten me fully awake and I was all set to roll. Frankly, 2 and a half hours of Linear Algebra revision right before the paper at 12 wasn’t at any bit adequate! By 11, revision wasn’t done and with the air-con blowing towards me, just made things worse as I started to panic!

I almost went unconscious when the question paper was flipped open as the clocks on the wall ticked 12. Before I could even catch a breath, I was swiftly taken off the ground. I worked my ass off for the next 2 hours although I was suffocating. The tension-filled room tighten the grip on my neck that it almost broke my spinal into two.

Now that everything’s over, I could finally take a break!

Hope you get this post. =)

The Second Day

I have been sleeping in a non-air-conditioned room for days now in response to Earth Hour. I believe the sacrifices I have made so far and would be making in the future would be able to help heal the world. The truth is, my beloved air-conditioner broke down and no one’s calling the repair man. So, I was stuck to using the ceiling fan and a stand fan, which are both switched on to a fan speed of 3.

This morning, I woke up to a cloudy morning. I felt like falling back to sleep but my 8 o’clock class prevented me from doing so. Which I later grudgingly get out of bed. As I walked down the street, I smelt a scent of gloominess.

Indeed. Arriving at college, the faces I encountered weren’t of any bit chirpy. Maybe it’s the upcoming finals that’s giving everyone so much pressure. I bet all ADP students would agree with me that the course assessments are inhuman. A-levels, B-Psych students always get a week or two off before finals as their study breaks.

ADP students on the other hand, not only do not have study breaks but we are often tortured with extra assignments, quizzes and presentations right before our finals. Those “obstacles” came at the right moment that it’s as though the lecturers did that on purpose to keep us preoccupied so that there wouldn’t be any time spared for us to prepare for our finals. Which means, they want us to fail our papers.

It has been hours since I started waiting. I have always told myself that waiting is a bliss in disguise. It truly is when you think of it from a different perspective. I loitered about after my class, which ended shortly before 10. Had lunch with my sister and played cards with my friends. Tinesh even founded some interesting rule for the Big2.5 game. Awesome.

It was drizzling and I hate it when it drizzles. Those annoying little rain drops just keep falling on my head! Why don’t You just pour it all down at one go? I stared at a puddle of water and watched every single rain drop as they fell. I was waiting yet again. The rain wouldn’t stop then, as though it was trying to wash my hope and faith away. But I persevered.

1 and a half hour later, my dad finally arrived.

It says: “You are a sensitive individual and enjoy the closeness of a romantic relationship. Although you would prefer not to be apart, you have the sensibility and strength of will to survive a long-distance romance until the time came that you could live in the same city.” – Could You Survive A Long-Distance Love Affair?

Zero to Hero or Is It Hero to Zero?

It was almost 2 in the morning but you decided to read an article about “How The World Sleeps” before you hit the hay sack. The ticking of the cuckoo clock echoed around the house and it sounded extra evident as it refracted through the cooler and denser air of the night. As you lay back comfortably on the sofa in the upper floor, the ceiling fan above worked its mechanism away as it cooled you down.

By then, the house was very much consumed in grave silence as everyone had long gone to bed, burying themselves under thick comforters that gave them warmth in the air-conditioned room of theirs. Nothing could you hear but the squeaking sound of the ceiling fan and the ticking of the clocks that filled the faces of the walls in your living room.

Moments later, you were so caught up in the facts presented in the article that all the sounds you previously heard had drown out. It was as though the sounds had hit a cycle that’s beyond the hearing range of human, which is 20,000 hertz.

All day long, you had been on a movie marathon and obviously, there wasn’t any time spared for a short siesta. On top of that, you had embraced a strenuous exercising program recently that you had relinquished 2 years ago, plus you have been sleeping at late hours since the beginning of the Summer semester. That accounted for the indescribable lethargy you were feeling. Your muscles were aching as though an army of hungry termites was feeding viciously on it.

Halfway through the article, you began to feel a little drowsy as the words sank in. Determined, you shook your head vigorously to stay awake for another minute in order to finish up the article. Just then, you paused upon hearing a familiar buzzing sound. You looked around but nothing came into sight. “Damn it!” you thought. That bug not only invaded your space, but it took control of your concentration.

Out of a sudden, the buzzing sound started once again. Louder this time, which means it’s flying close. It came into contact with your feet and you flinched. You shifted your concentration towards the floor immediately but all you could see was a flying thing that disappeared into the hanging towels in front of you. Frustrated. You could not identify the bug as it intelligently used the wooden-tiled ground as camouflage.

You knew it had not landed as the buzz indicated. You tried hard so as not to be distracted by it and continued your reading. “Was it doing it with intentions?”  you wondered, after you were attacked for the second time. *Changing “you” to “I.” * I sat up and asked myself, “What the f*** was that?”

*******************

Creepy bugs I hate. If you think that as a guy, I shouldn’t be afraid of small bugs, think again. Bugs are so minute in their sizes that you wouldn’t know what are they going to do next. I bet most of the time, you have to take a closer look to identify the bug.

Seriously, there’s nothing heroic about not being afraid of bugs. If you are just so afraid to admit to girls that bugs scare the hell out of you, then you are just plain dumb. Let me give you examples.

Let’s say you and a girl are having an evening walk in a park near your house. The girl saw an insy-winsy spider hanging down from a tree, she screams and runs away. You acting heroic, told her it’s only a small insect and the next thing you know, it bites you and you are poisoned because the spider is no ordinary spider and is poisonous. Hero to Zero.

Another example. The girl saw a bee, she screams and runs away. You acting heroic again, told her it’s just a small bee. The next thing you know, the bee stings you in the neck that gotten you a swollen neck for the next one month or more. Hero to Zero.

3rd example. While eating with the girl, there’s a fly flying around that scares the hell out of her. She screams again and you acting heroic again, told her it’s only a small fly. The next thing you know, the fly just flies into your ear and comfortably breeds its eggs. After a week, all the eggs hatch and worms start to crawl out of your ear. How disgusting is that? Hero to Zero.

So guys, don’t act stupid. Don’t give up safety for dignity. Agree or not? Leave a comment. =)

Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall

Gossiping/bitching about others have become a norm in this competitive society of ours nowadays. It doesn’t really matter whether you are hanging out with friends in college, chilling out at a cafeteria during lunch hour with a bunch of fellow colleagues, or having a brisk walk down the pavement of a park directly opposite your house, you could see 2 or more people mingled at a corner, gossiping their heads off.

It’s common to have a stereotyped thinking that gossips often go along with girls. But it’s time for our dear men to wake up from their fantasies and venture into the reality. Due to tremendous globalization, I believe that men and women are finally setting foot on equal grounds, where women are no longer being oppressed by most societies across the globe and men are no longer given the utmost priority and sole opportunity to rule over women both in academics and in religions. It’s without a doubt that women are able to accomplish what men could achieve, likewise, it shows no sign of awkwardness for men to take over a woman’s job i.e. housewife, because men could also manage house chores besides having to work in the office! =)

Going back to the topic, if females gossip, so do the males. And I don’t find that little piece of information “traumatic” as some others might do. The point is that we shouldn’t place too much of our attention on others but on ourselves instead. Have you ever look yourself in the mirror for just a few seconds and ask, why are people mistreating you or why are they backstabbing you when you think they should not? When some things in life goes haywire, don’t blame on others or start barking at everyone else around you as if you’ve just been bitten by a pariah dog and got infected with the Mad Cow Disease. Maybe you are the root to the little problem that occurred rather than others? Ever thought of that?

However, there’s always a room for improvement and no such thing there is as TOO LATE. Realizing yourself may be the first step to a better self in the future, you would never know if you don’t attempt.

“Am I going to do this or am I not?”

People are often dumbfounded, I would say, when these questions invade their minds. Why would I say so? Usually, when these questions appear, people had to make an ultimate decision out of two or more options, which would later take effect on or alter some other things tremendously that could never be undone. Obviously, the decision made must be a beneficial one rather than a screwed up/detrimental one. That’s why, people would be so caught up in a dilemma that they wouldn’t even have half a second to spare to have their eyes blinked.

With sweat trickling down their foreheads, every second counts as they consider and re-consider the implications of their decisions, making sure that the outcome would be as satisfying as possible. Definitely not an easy task to accomplish. I believe that you readers out there would absolutely have one moment of your life dedicated to this problem-solving-decision-making situation, in which I bet you dreaded it so badly.

The point is, it’s 1.44 in the morning and I’m still seated in front of my 4-months-old notebook, blogging away like there is no tomorrow. The standing fan on my left was previously set to a fan speed of 2 and was adjusted in a way that directed the wind towards my upper body. Meanwhile, I have my safely protected brain working its cells off and spinning away in the skull like a turbo in action, trying to figure out the pros and cons of doing a particular tag that would blow my secrets away? Interesting, no?

For the sake of my blog, for the sake of blog readers, for the sake of my interest in doing tags, and for the sake of all sakes, I decided to give in. As I write, I’ll try to be as honest as I can be. Here goes and Enjoy~

  • [1] Who was your last text from? And how old are they?
    • Calvin and he’s 20 years old?
  • [2] Where was your default picture taken?
    • Turkey.
  • [3] What’s your middle name?
    • Yi.
  • [4] Does your crush likes you back?
    • I wonder.
  • [5] What is your current mood(s)?
    • Sleepy and normal.
  • [6] What color shirt are you wearing?
    • Yellowish-white.
  • [7] Would you kiss the last person you kissed, again?
    • I don’t even remember who I last kissed.
  • [8] If you could go back in time and change something, would you?
    • People make mistakes, don’t they? People learn from their mistake, don’t they? People then become who they are today, don’t they? Why think of the past? Focus on the path ahead of you instead.
  • [9] Do you have a crazy side?
    • Definitely. Just bring me to a club, blast the music, and see what happens next.
  • [10] Ever had a near death experience?
    • I was young when I went to Penang. I remember swimming in a crowded pool with my parents near the edge. The pool was an adult pool, which explains why I was having a ring float over me. For some reasons, both my parents left me alone at the side while they swam to the deeper section in the middle. Imagine a naughty little boy being left alone by the staircase that descends down to the very pool. He started kicking the blue-tiled stairs and “BLOP!” he disappeared. He struggled to float and breathe while he shouted for his mom but all efforts proved futile. In the water, he could see his mother’s blurry image at a distance. He thought he would not survive. Then, there was a firm grip on his arms, followed by a strong tug. He was pulled to surface. Thank God, the lifeguard did his job.
  • [11] What is something you do a lot?
    • Online and blogging.
  • [12] Are you angry at anyone?
    • Not for now.
  • [13] Are you a pervert?
    • Not really, no.
  • [14] When was the last time you cried tear?
    • While I was watching a movie, and you know what movie was that.
  • [15] Who would you do anything for?
    • Someone who’s special to me.
  • [16] Do you believe in love at first sight?
    • I do.
  • [17] Who do you like?
    • This is torturing.
  • [18] Who was your first true love?
    • She’s still on the loose.
  • [19] Who were you with last?
    • My family?
  • [20] Do you still watch kiddy TV programs?
    • No but it’ll be interesting to watch it.

This tag is definitely not the best, in fact, it’s kind of lame. So I’m not tagging anyone and I recommend no one to do this, even if you are free. Please do not touch this tag.

Tragic Ending

Far off at the apex of a mountain, covered with thick snow, laid a wooden house made out of centuries old thick logs. Although generations have resided there, laughter and sorrow were shared, the house remained sturdy. It was as though any form of catastrophe would never succeed in bringing the house to ground. However, no matter how firm the house stood, a slight mistake would blow everything apart, likewise, a strong metal would turn brittle as it corrodes if it came into contact with even a tiny droplet of water.

A usual day it was. In the serene house, everyone was awaken to a cloudless day as the bright scorching sun shone through the transparent windows of the bedrooms. The children were too tired to get up and they decided to sleep in for another hour or so. Blame it all on the surprise party last night that their parents had planned for the youngest son who just turned 7. It was indeed a memorable night for the family because for once, the family had a chance to gather together to celebrate someone’s birthday. Usually, the father would be out till midnight, doing odd jobs to earn some extra income to fend for the family.

Everyone had a whale of time yesterday, dancing around the house with the rhythm of the music, which was practically beating through every corner of the dwelling. It’s no doubt that lethargy had bitten its way into the body of every soul that night. However, there was an exception. Little brother here was prancing around the house that morning after he was awaken by the blistering heat that had filtered its way through the ozone into his bedroom. He was so overwhelmed with joy and excitement that a big slap on his cheek might not be able stop him from laughing.

The other children were as dead as zombies. Lying down on their respective beds, the children gibbered about the annoying voice, which eventually turned the quiet morning into a disaster as it was consumed with the worst noise pollution ever happened on earth. Poor mommy had to crawl out of bed from her hubby’s warm embrace to prepare some breakfast for the highly-spirited little one in order to quiet him down and please the others. Turned on the gas stove, mommy fried some eggs, sausages, bacons, and some baked beans. Swiftly, breakfast was ready and the little one soon indulged himself with it. Finally, the morning was at peace once again.

Everything happened too quickly that day. The fireplace was still burning like there’s no tomorrow when the half-awake mommy had carelessly forgotten to turn off the gas stove before heading back to bed. The chilly wind from the opposite mountains blew into the house and sped up the diffusion of gas throughout the entire space. The leaked gas was never noticed and soon it was in contact with the burning fire. BOOM! The entire antique blasted apart mercilessly, as though God’s wrath was acting upon it. The impact of the blast was so tremendous and powerful that the windows shattered into billions of tiny pieces. Splinters were seen flying in different directions with great speed. Flocks of birds veiled the cloudless sky as they were frightened by the sudden deafening explosion. Neighbors were jolted and they rushed to the scene immediately, but it was already too late. Nothing could be done but to stand aside helplessly, witnessing as the raging fire engulfed the wooden house within split seconds. None survived the blast that day. It was indeed a tragic ending for such a loving family.

Love Is A 4-Letter Word

What just happened was supposed to make me feel better and a sense of relief but I’m feeling otherwise. I was expecting smiles but what I got was a face of disgust. I didn’t really got slapped by negative expressions but I can feel that my action wasn’t welcomed. I thought I was doing the right thing but the act made me feel as though I was an irresponsible person. Whatever it was, I finally did what I was supposed to do weeks ago.

After alighting the car, double-parked at the side of the road, I marched straight into the Taman Megah pet shop. Maybe it was the right day to buy pets, the shop was crowded with enthusiastic families and couples, looking through the transparent cages, hoping to find the right pet from themselves.

Grudgingly, I climbed up the steep stairs to reach the 1st floor where white mice were being displayed. Holding tightly onto the paper bag, I walked up straight to a worker who was arranging the packets of pet food on the shelf. It was a multi-colored mooncake paper bag I was holding and maybe that attracted the attention of the workers? *shrugs* Before I was even given a chance to explain my next move, the workers swarmed round me and started peering into the bag.

“Saves my time,” I thought. So I spilt it all out from the very day I bought the mouse, to the day I used them as “guinea pigs,” till now where I finally realized I couldn’t afford anymore to take out time from my “hectic” timetable to attend to their hunger and thirst. Then for a moment, I experienced a pin-drop-silence situation, which was way too awkward to stand. And having so many pairs of eyes staring back at you wasn’t anything nice at all, what’s more, they were all pet lovers.

I was then bombarded with questions and comments - “Have you lost interest in them?”, “They are so skinny and timid.” - that really made me feel as though I had turned into some cold-hearted and irresponsible monster. As you know, those mice were my first pet ever since I was born to this earth. Although it felt great playing with those mice, but I find it really troublesome to keep something alive while I’m actually struggling to sustain mine. Maybe they were right that my interest wasn’t really there at all. Sorry.

Anyway, I think I did the right thing by returning those mice to them. I hereby hope the best for my mice and I’m really happy for they now have a better owner than they previously had.

On a different note, I have a little announcement to make : I might be going on a short hiatus. The occasion : Streamyx/TMnet screwed up my line due to some managing problems and they need to cut off my Internet for a few days in order to get everything into place. Hopefully this repairing progress won’t take up too much time.

Joke Of The Day!

I’m supposed to be updating my blog with dozens of entries, but I’m too preoccupied editing my blogskin. Did I tell you that it’s HARD to find nice blogger templates? You’ll end up spending God-knows-how-many-hours, searching and browsing for a suitable one. Changed it, get bad comments about it, and here we go again. The cycle goes on and on and on, and you’ll never get satisfied with it. Slowly, it turns into obsession. You’ll be stuck right before your computer, having a great desire in mind to find a cool skin for your blog to impress others.

I changed my blogskin a multiple times since finals and I finally got myself settled on one. I wonder how long will this blogskin last. Hope it’ll be forever but that would be impossible. Who cares, many loves it now. Do you guys remember the JEANs template? Well, I get comments from different people with different perspectives and mindsets.

Here are the feedbacks I got regarding the previous JEANS blogskin I used:

  1. OMG! Your skin is awesome!
  2. I love this skin better than your other skin *The skin I’m using now*
  3. I like brighter skin and I don’t really like this.
  4. Not nice lar the design for your blog … Jeans wtf? *Edwin*

These totally contrasting feedbacks had put me on the horns of a dilemma, forcing me to burn up all the leftover midnight oils from finals in order to search for a better looking skin. I don’t even remember how many times have I typed in the blog list every single time I change my blogskin. What a tiring and exhausting process. Anyway, I’m quite satisfied with my blog right now, seeing that so many people had left good comments about it. (= Thank you very much. Joel Comm Okay, I was digressing all the way since the start of the entry. Shall return to main purpose of this entry. What’s the joke of the day? =)

*********************************************************************************************************************************

There was a bunch of college students sitting in a circle, chatting and gossiping about their life, studies, and whatever topic they could think of. After sharing their romantic love life among themselves, they started talking about education. Which university would be their primary choice, when will they transfer, and how will they cope with the local environment abroad.

Then one of them asks, “Do you know why all students who are planning to transfer and whom already transferred to UK and abroad are all majoring in Law?” Distinct and weird replies followed as rejoinders to the questions. None of them got it right. Out of frustration, everyone impatiently asked for the right answer.

“Well, the answer is simple,” the person who questioned the crowd spoke. “Think of it in a Malaysian context!” he continued. Everyone began to dig their hands into their hair and started scratching it vigorously. *Thinking deeply* Again, none could get the accurate answer into place.

Now, It’s time for the person who provoked the question to get ants in his ass. Can’t wait no longer, he blurted out, “What would be the reply if you were in UK and you asked a Malaysian about their purpose being there?” Their answer would be simple, “STUDY LOR!” Lor and Law are homophones! =)

Lame, but that’s the way a joke should be.

*********************************************************************************************************************************

Speaking of accents and slangs, I found this joke on the one of the shirts sold in Central Market. The former US president George Bush was having a small chat with China president Mao Zedong. As the chat went further, both presidents started talking about the politics of their respective country. George Bush, out of curiosity, asked president Mao, “When do your country hold the general election?” Without the least hesitation, president Mao replied, “Every morning!” *He thought Bush was asking about his erection* =.=

Lost Track of Time

I wonder what got into me this semester. Tapeworms?

I did so well in all my course assessments but yet, I never fail to screw up everything during the finals. This is the very first time I found myself in the midst of giving up on my studies. Every time I open up the book, I felt like flipping it through, trying to take in as much information as possible with just a glance, and close it back.

I remember the times when I was so highly-spirited that I lit up the oil lamp and stayed up until 4 just to finish up everything. Now, I realized I was as lazy as a ship in the doldrums. I couldn’t concentrate on my studies, got distracted by MSN chatting half-way through and blogging. Have I lost interest in my studies? I never stop wondering. Tropical

While I was reading Biology the other day, before I could even cover half the 1st chapter, my mind strolled off. I turned to the computer and clicked on videos, and watched how Michael Jackson dances. And damn, he’s good at dancing! I didn’t know that he’s that good until that day.  Animals

After wasting so much time on Michael Jackson, I wasn’t contented. Clicked on “related videos” and I found something real INCREDIBLE that popped my eyes. This robot dancer from “So You Think You Can Dance,” whom I didn’t know about his presence, danced like an alien. How I wish I could dance like him. Did I already say he’s awesome?

So it was 3 in the morning already and I haven’t even cover half of what I should study. Instead of switching off the laptop and get my ass started, I decided to hit the sack. Reminiscing about it, I couldn’t help but wonder again, “was that really me?” Never mind. What was indeed me was that I decided to wake up early the next morning so that I could catch up what I’d missed the previous night. ]

Alarm rang the next morning. Miraculously, I woke up, but only to stop the alarm and shoved myself back under the warm blanket. Alas, I woke up “officially” at 10 and I was panicking and struggling throughout the morning. Lunch time arrived and I wasn’t hungry although I hadn’t eaten my breakfast.

Then it was 4. I sat down in the exam hall. What laid in front of me was a piece of question paper, which I later found out that I couldn’t answer most of them with certainty. Instantaneously, I felt disappointed with myself. If there lays a knife along with the paper, I would stab myself a thousand times with it.

Swiftly, 2 hours passed before me. I handed in the paper but there wasn’t any sense of freedom that I could feel. So, this day is just like other ordinary days for me, not a day to feel extremely exhilarated about.   Blogging

Since it’s after finals and I have 3 weeks of holiday, I shall get back to the blogging business once again. Please bear with me because I have loads of overdue posts piling real high up. So, don’t be surprise if you see more than 2 entries per day.

Easter Jokes

Being the “only” guy to blog on the first day of finals – priceless.

************************************************************************************

Friday – 17th April 2009

As usual, World Religions class started at 8. Anxious presenters were getting everything set up and there were complications.

  1. Ern Teck was supposed to present first. “Oops! I forget to print the evaluation sheet!” Dashed off to get himself a copy after finding none of us have a spare sheet.
  2. Stephanie who was to go second, went forward to get her slides prepared so she could present without wasting anymore time. *Gosh, did I see Ms. Yap in frustration? END THIS STEPHANIE!*

Stephanie – *sticks in pendrive into En Teck’s notebook and tries to open her powerpoint slides* “Err.. Why is it not working?”

*Did I mention that Ern Teck’s notebook does not have the latest Microsoft package?*

Darn. Out the door went Stephanie to get a compatible copy for her slides. *This is getting bad isn’t it?*

Everyone was sick of all the waiting. It’s Upa’s turn now and thank God she had an evaluation sheet with her and her slides could be opened. She was ***** away minutes later.

*************************************************************************************

The lame joke you have been waiting for!

So after few hours of waiting *heart-beating+pumping, Ms. Yap finally pasted our continuing assessment scores on the wall outside her door and put out 2 boxes of graded assignments.

After taking mine and being nosy for a moment, checking out other people’s grades, I went to level one. Denise, Hern Ee, and Bryan was there, talking about their assignment grades. *wait, Bryan is not even in any of Ms. Yap’s class! Busybody.

Here comes the joke.

Disclaimer : This conversation may not be 100% accurate because I’m not a robot!

Bryan : Is it Easter Day today?

Hern Ee : Is it? I’m not really sure about it!

Denise : And you said that you are a Christian.

Sean/Me : NOOOO! It’s last week!

Bryan : Is it? *grins then turns serious* I’m Methodist.

Sean/Me : Owh! Different belief different timing.

****************************************************************************************

Calvin came out of CF room and joined our conversation.

Denise : Not going for CF?

Calvin : Nah.

Denise : Why?

Sean/Me : Protestant?

Calvin : No lah.

Sean/Me : Why not? Correct lah. Protestant so not going for CF!

*****************************************************************************************

Sean/Me : So when is your Easter? *Referring to the first part of the convo*

Calvin : … I’m Calvinism.

Sean/Me : Yea! Protestant lah! *Referring to the 2nd part of the convo*

You’ll get the joke better if you were there and if you understand it.

One fine day, a man asked a gardener, "Hey Mr. Gardener, I wonder how did you plant the seeds properly?"

Mr. Gardener answered, "Sure young man. There are a couple of things that you need to know before you get started. You have to decide if you want to clear the bushes and weeds first or just trim them down."

The young man answered, "Aha."

"So, young man, do you like them trimmed or completely clear out?" the cheeky gardener asked.

"I think I like full bush", the young man smiled back.

"Full bush? Why full bush?", the gardener replied.

"It provides cushioning..." the young man replied.

How to Plant Seeds
First you gotta make sure the soil is moist. To do that, stick your finger in the old Mother earth. If it comes out dry, just wipe out your hose and give it a good spray.

And then, carefully plant the seeds in the soil. Carefully? Why carefully? Because if you fling that stuff around, half of it is wasted.

Voting Rights For Everyone!

There’s one very important thing that we, human beings have to know - we are imperfect. Hence, we don’t possess the rights to judge others because the notion of a perfect being is an utterly absurd nonsense.

Unfortunately, some narcissists will be so preoccupied with their abilities that they think that they are perfect? Even the greatest leaders in the world like Abraham Lincoln or the current US president, Obama are not even near perfection. There’s got to be a slight flaw that might miss and go unnoticed under our bare eyes.

Come to think of it, maybe that’s why we are God’s creation. The copied version will never be as flawless as the original version. Just as when you compare a genuine DVD with a pirated one. It makes sense, doesn’t it?

Thinking logically, if God’s thought to be a perfect being, why would he want to create a perfect human being who might someday be more superior than he is or be on an equal stand with he himself? That would be a rather foolish thing to do, isn’t it?

The situation is just similar to a president who doesn’t want a brilliant minister in his parliament who would threaten his authority and might even replace him someday. Anyway, the point I want to make is simple, there’s no such thing as being perfect even if you perceive it to be true.

As imperfect as we are, be prepared to be subjected to criticism of all sorts. And we, have to just accept them open-mindedly, repairing our mistakes and bad values that others see but not us. Sadly, the reality is just opposite of what is being said here. That’s where and how chaos starts and will never find its way to a resolved happy ending.

It is undeniable that everyone wants to be loved, wants to be the center of attraction, wants to be popular, wants to be in the company of friends, wants the whole world to be his/her brothers and sisters or even wants to be perfect!

There’s literally none in this pathetically “built” planet who loves to be criticized, especially in public. Imagine if someone just blurted out everything that he/she thinks about you publicly without caring about your feelings. I swear that you’ll want to have the legs of a leopard, run as far as possible and hid yourself in the Valley of Humiliation.

I don’t see any logical reasons to someone who likes to be commented by others. But we must admit that people are born with a notorious nature – gossiping about others; and man, backstabbing is a norm ever since the genesis of mankind. Jealousy is the mastermind behind all these chaos.

All these evil virtues will manifest itself most evident during the teenage years of our lives. It’s stereotypical to say that only girls will bitch about everybody else who gets in their way. Due to massive modernization, men and women are now on equal stance. That’s what the girls have been complaining about and getting furious over with – guys gossip too.

“Famous” slogans and words, such as bitch, bugger, bastard, f**ker, slut are common nowadays as they are often used to describe an enemy. Those disrespectful, rude, and obscene remarks are some examples that I can think of right now. I believe, non of us want to be labeled with degrading “names” as that.

Based on the ethical principle of Golden Rule, there emerge a silver rule that is understood to be “Do not do to others as you would not have them do to you.” So, don’t be so self-centered and start thinking about others.

I have always been trying to better myself so as not to be a victim of vulgarities or the hot topic of gossips and “paparazzis”. I strive hard every year to better myself so as not to be a bad friend or a bad person in the eyes of others but it always ended up with failures.

So, I’m here to permit you, everyone of you to vote the devil or the angel out of me. I’m also here to allow you to front-stab me by writing comments about me, criticizing me in my ShoutMix on the left-hand side of the blog <---- either anonymously or with your names written. *Most preferably with your names written*Don’t worry as I will not go straight back at you with a vengeance.

I hope that the feedbacks for my poll will be positive, honest and sincere. You do want a better friend, do you? So, help me out will you? I desperately crave for objective views about myself!

Thank you! (:

Random Love Impression

I have this habit of relating something to someone I love or like very much but the reasons seem blurred.

Maybe it’s a first impression thingy but what’s weird is that that happen to non others than the crushes I had.

First Crush – Purple Color. I can’t figure out how did I even associated the color purple with her, but whenever I see purple, I think of her. Purple

Second Crush – Disturbia by Rihanna. This song can really disturb my mind, evoking thoughts and memories of her along with the beating of the rhythm. Disturbia [Rihanna] Third Crush – Crush by David Archuleta and One Step At A Time by Jordin Sparks. Realize how those two songs are related to each other and sharing something in common – sang by American Idol’s *contestants. But that has got nothing to do with how those were bonded to her. Actually there’s more, but I think that’s enough. David Archuleta

Jordin Sparks

Four Crush – Poker Face by Lady GaGa. Haha. Wonder why as well. Lady GaGa

In short, 75% of my crushes are associated with songs. (: That’s something random to share.  Pie Chart

Are you in any ways similar to me?

Condom Boxes!

This morning I did go for Mr. Deva boring and uninformative tutorial class after much contemplations had been done the previous night. And that was a wise decision I made because he finished marking our 2nd quiz and he gave it back today! The grades shall not be disclosed though. (:

I was glad that the class ended half an hour early and I decided not to stop by at KPDE because all my friends are going to have a miserable day today – Calculus I quiz. They must be working their asses off, revising and trying to solve the tough Mathematical equations. So, I didn’t want to bother them.

Went straight to the bus stop across the road right next to Subway for the U82 bus. And before I even had the time to walk out of KPD, I saw that gigantic bus colored with red, blue and white paint slowly came to a halt through the fencing. Great.

Guess what I did. I turned back and headed for the next bus stop which is situated right in front of Ali Maju Restaurant at Main Block. Now, that’s far and I’m wearing a pair of flip-flops. Cool? I managed to catch the bus though. ;)

Okay, that’s not the point. Again, I alighted at Damansara Utama, which is so super near to Chloe’s house. I told her a multiple times that she could take the bus back home but with a price – She has to walk a short distance to her house. She just rejected my “brilliant” idea with 2 reasons.

  1. I don’t want to walk home!
  2. It’s so dangerous walking alone! *Hello? I can walk you home right? Are you doubting my ‘man-ness’? LOL.*

That was so not the point again. I crossed the blustering morning roads of Thursday through the rigidly-built sky bridge and entered a housing area, where I found the dead rat. Remember?

The StreetSo while I was walking down the empty, I mean quite empty street, I was literally searching for that poor little huge rat. Eyeing everywhere hoping to find it, but my effort was in vain. The carcass just disappeared. How sad can that be. If it were to be there, I can make it like Kee’s world comics or something. (Then… Now…)

19032009334Anyway, not my point again. So I walked for around 500 meters and I reached the “small” highway beside my housing area. And Finally I come to my point! I saw this Durex condom box beside of the road! I was like =.= Litter is quite common in Malaysia if you don’t know. But, you don’t litter such personal stuff like that. It’s almost similar to littering your pads or pampers, which I believe you people have seen it before. 19032009335

Come on man. But if the reason for littering that is because the guy couldn’t wait for home and just stopped by somewhere and do it and he wants no evidence left at all, then that might, MIGHT be okay.

So, that’s my whole point! Save the environment! Don’t litter for others’ sake. (:

Darwin’s Theory of Evolution!

Evolution of man

Looks familiar? This picture taken from google is rather satirical. :D

The title says it all! Us, the homo sapiens or religiously speaking, the sons of Gods, have been evolving vastly in a rapid manner since centuries ago to adapt to the ever-changing environment, let alone the diversity of animals that have been inhabiting the thick woods and are now invading the concrete jungles.

I learned that last week in that extremely arid class of Mr. Deva’s. You might think that I’m being a geek here, blogging about the details that I’ve learned in college, but please do hold on to that thought for a moment. I’m actually attempting to be a good writer here, trying to relate stories to the events in our life. (: Read on to find out!

Well, if you are naive enough to not know, the stereotypical thought of cats chasing rats or mice have vanished as rats gradually evolve into a size akin to that of a cat. Believe or not, cats nowadays don’t even bother to move a single bit when a big black fat ass rat scurries through and disappear into one of the cracks of the dark, creepy corner of the streets.

Rat -->More rats

Now, it’s getting disgusting but not just yet.

While I was ambling down the street as usual after alighting from the U82 bus at Damansara Utama, I looked around, hoping to see something extraordinary so that I could capture it with my camera. Hey, that’s what we do when we don’t own a car. We return home by public transport, then walk home. On the way, we do nonsensical stuff to entertain ourselves, right Jeremy?

So back to the point, I saw something lying flat on the middle of the road and I guess you already know what I saw. I have a good thesis statement. Thank you. It’s a big black fat ass rat! Of course, a live rat would have scurried across and hid itself in the drain or under the bushes.

It’s a dead rat, “duh!”, and the scene was/is gory. “Lucky” you, I took it down.

Fking disgusting dead rat

Apparently, a gigantic monster with four wheels, embodying itself in hard metal surfaces ran over the rat while it was taking its own sweet time crossing the damn “wide” road. Internal organs just spurted all out instantaneously I guess.

I think that’s enough, right? I just posted the most revolting, disgusting, gross, ewwy, eeky entry ever, and I don’t think you expected it! (:

Thank you. Sorry. Bye Bye. *Waves, Take a bow*

“You are Cute” (:

Some of you might have known that I had bought small white mice for my Biology experiments but some of you might not.

Some of you might even seen the mice as I had brought it to college today, but some of you might not ):

Some of you might have seen my total absurd and ridiculous PM saying that the mice are so cute and vulnerable, but some of you might not.

Those of you who have not heard a thing about the mice, You are officially known as BLUR! HAHAHA!

So, I’m here to post up some pictures of those cute little mice (: So that every one of you will not be missed out to have a look at their adorable faces (:

Hope you enjoy (:

Aww, aren’t they adorable little rodents?

Have been longing to own a pet since young but my family doesn’t really like pets. So, now it’s my GOLDEN opportunity to rear them with the excuse of having the need to accomplish the Biology experiment!

Don’t really know how to take good care of them. My first experience.

So, you guys can drop down some advices for me if you are helpful and kind enough, or else the poor little thing might die within 2 weeks. Hope not.

With that, I shall sign off as -

“Wonderful” start for a day

After lighting up the oil lamps for a few days, reluctant to get up even when sun shone through the windows, bringing excruciating heat onto my face, I finally broke the daily routine of my holiday life.

I amazingly went to sleep before the clock stroke two and woke up before the roosters crow. Took a chilly bath and wore the boring outfit I always wear to college. After a brief clean-up, I depart for HELP.

Arrived at Damansara twenty minutes earlier and I didn’t even bother to go to KPD E. Went straight up to level 9 via the elevator in Wisma HELP, barged into the room of LH9.3, took the first seat on the third row* and sat down.

The grave silence in the room was eerie, but something kept me accompanied, my NOKIA N73 handphone. Opened a new note, wrote down all my emotions and thoughts in it while waiting for someone to appear at the door.

Slowly, everybody arrived. The arrival of Mid-Hat, especially, took the spotlight as he broke the silence with a LOUD “HELLO.” I almost fell out from the wooden chair I’m sitting on. He was so hyped up on the first day itself that as if there were worms in his buttocks (Couldn’t get himself seated properly).

Then, finally came Ms Rani with her laptop bags hanging from her shoulder and with a packet of take-away drink in her hand. After everything was set up without much complications, the class started.

15 minutes of lecture coerced my slightly rusted mind to work and then there was an instant power failure. The whole room blacked out but fortunately, there were lights in the room, thanks to the two pathetic dim lights that were running by batteries and the sunlight that managed to shine through the blinds.

Only few minutes later that we got an announcement noticing us that the whole Damansara area was actually affected. Couldn’t be bothered, Ms Rani continued her lecture, which I find the obscured formulae of Calculus III even harder to comprehend.

An hour of lecturing without lights and air-conditioning was torturing to the core as if hell is on earth itself. The suffering ended right after my inner self started to grumble and complain about this “catastrophe.” The lights came back as though Jesus just said, “Let there be light!” I was instantly glad that I wasn’t born to the primeval world.

Came back home to study World Religion for next Friday’s quiz although I was extremely exhausted after attending 5 and a half hours straight of classes.

I had to get myself prepared or I’ll be screwed up nicely next Friday because the quiz is going to cover 5 chapters of absurdly interesting pieces of information that sums up to a total of 211 pages. And besides that, Calculus III quiz is going to be held on the same day. Well, wish me luck and hope I don’t die of over-studying (touchwood).

After struggling hard to catch up with that incredibly fast time, I managed to finish only “ONE” chapter of the 5. Pathetic me.

Before signing off, here’s a picture specially taken down for you!

Well, the “S” on the scarf obviously means “Stitch,” but if you interpret it from a different angle, it means “Smile” always.

Take my word for it, appreciate your life before someone gain control of it.
